Every pad and diaper on earth is built on an absorbent core, and today that core means felled trees and imported, dollar-priced wood pulp. We make the same core from agricultural waste that already grows beside us, and the model is built to travel across a multi-billion-dollar hygiene industry.
Pineapple leaves and maize husks are agricultural waste, abundant, local, and co-located with our supply. No tree farming, no new land, no exposure to global pulp-price shocks.
Our pulp is designed to cut manufacturers’ raw-material costs by up to 40% versus imported wood pulp, sustainability without the price penalty that kills most eco-material deals.
We sell the material inside the pad. Every manufacturer, from global brands to local factories, is a customer, not a rival. The bigger the category grows, the more pulp they buy.
Because our pulp comes from crop waste, not trees, it sits outside the EU Deforestation Regulation that competitors relying on wood must comply with, turning their compliance headache into our sales pipeline.
Nyungu Afrika has been recognised and supported through respected programmes in climate, deep-tech and women’s innovation. Our founder sits on the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Technical Committee writing national biodegradable-hygiene standards. Specific investors are shared privately with qualified parties.
